From there you can fly either Bangkok Airways or Thai Airways.

Bangkok Airways, the first airline to service the island, has over 15 flights a day to Samui. The cheapest flights are the 6:00 and 20:30 flight which go for just over 2200 THB one way. Fares can get as high as 3515 THB or 4010 THB for business class. If comfort is your thing then avoid the ATR 72 Aircraft flights. These are the puddle jumpers. A much smaller plane which, due to engine size, will keep you in the air nearly a half hour longer.

Thai Airways started flights to Koh Samui in March of 2008. They currently have 2 flights daily to the island. The lowest roundtrip fare is 5600 THB.

Comparatively, Thai Airways can save you a few thousand baht getting to the island but doesn’t offer you as many choices in your departure time. They are, however, part of Star Alliance so points accrued on your Bangkok to Samui trip can be applied to your Star Alliance account.

Other flights to Samui originate in Hong Kong, Singapore and other major destinations in Thailand.
